The current advice for those with small children is to avoid plastic! The BPA free movement has caught on, labels for baby bottles and drinking bottles everywhere say BPA free. PET plastic is seen as a safer choice (Polyethylene terephthalate) and supposed to be free of BPA, and then we use it once and then recycle it, but what if that was not the end of it?
Does PET leach endocrine disrupting chemicals (or phthalates) apparently, the concentration varies according to several factors including what kind of pH product is involved. So sodas, vinegars and such leak more, especially with exposure to rising room temperatures.
There is more research to be done, but to be on the safe side, glass maybe the best answer to this
Plastic question.
